HETA NYKÄNEN
I started having singing lessons with Heta because I wanted to improve
confidence and strength in my singing and to learn more about using and
moving my voice in a certain way.
It has been one year now, and I definitely feel improved security in my voice.
A lot of times, when it first feels exhausting to sing a certain song,
she helps me relaxing my voice and finding techniques to let it feel
easy and free, no matter what style of music (Blues, Metal, Folk, Rock)
or language and I am enjoying it every time!

I’ve always loved to sing for my own enjoyment. Even though I don’t intend to sing in front of an audience, I felt that I wanted to develop my singing and started taking lessons with Heta.
Heta’s enthusiastic and positive teaching style, as well as the varied methods we’ve used, have helped me both develop my voice control and range, but also given me more confidence in my skills. Because of Heta’s own wide range in different singing styles and genres, I’ve been able to practice with songs that I love and want to sing, and Heta has given tips and guidance on how to use my voice and strengths with each song and style.

I must say that Heta was really easy to come along from the very first lesson. I felt that I can just be myself and that the learning in singing started right away. She listened carefully to what I wanted to achieve, which was to get more “tools” to use my voice with my band and music (alternative rock music).
I took lessons with Heta for over one year on a weekly basis. I have been really happy that I made that decision. My singing has improved very much and I have been enjoying singing much more as I am more aware of my instrument; my voice.
