Vocal Lab -
workshops
Singers often wonder about the very same things: How can I manage my nerves on stage or practice smartly?
How do I actually memorize lyrics (or if I even can do it..) or how do I make a song sound like my own?
In Vocal Lab workshops, we explore and practice these skills together and grow as singers, side by side!
Each session is a focused, inspiring mini-lab that gives you concrete tools to strengthen your voice, boost your confidence, and enjoy singing
even more!

Vocal Lab-workshops on Thurdsday evenings:
Participate in all of the workshops (9x) or pick the ones that spark your interest the most!
15.1.
Why does the voice get tired? Basis of sustainable voice use
Is your voice tired or hoarse by the end of the day? Learn to spot vocal strain and take care of your voice in everyday life!
We'll go through SOVT exercises, body alignment, and simple routines & strategies that help keep your voice balanced. These resources are helpful for everyday life, but also useful when coming back to singing and speaking
after a flu!
29.1
Your singing practice
When you want to grow as a singer, home practice is The Thing! But how do you know what to work on? How do you know if you're doing an exercise "correctly"? In this session, you’ll get practical ideas for structuring your practice: how to plan your practice, track your practicing, and create a routine that works for you!
12.2.
Releasing tension
A voice that’s freer, easier, and more resonant? Practicing vocal technique strengthens your voice, but even the finest skills can’t shine at their best if unnecessary tension keeps your free-est voice captive!
In this session, we’ll focus on developing body awareness and using the nervous system to find ease and relaxation in the body. The best part? You can apply these techniques for selfcare in everyday life too!
26.2.
Performance anxiety
Why does singing in front of others feel so nerve-wracking, and how can you practice being more at ease on stage? We go through strategies to perform with growing confidence and enjoy the experience more fully! If you feel like it, you'll also practice performing something little in the class! In the most supportive atmosphere! <3
12.3.
Song interpretation and expression through lyrics
How do I choose the right sound or volume for a particular part of a song? How do I connect more with the lyrics? How do I find depth in a song and make it my own?
An important step in creating a compelling interpretation is text analysis. Bring along a song you'd like to work on, preferably in your native language!
26.3.
Learning a song by heart and preparing for a performance
How do you learn a song so it stays in your body and mind?
You’ll learn to understand the structure of your song and with concrete tools, you’ll build confidence in your ability to memorize any song! Yes, you can and WILL! 😉 Bring along a song you’d like to learn by heart next!
9.4.
Music comprehension for singers
Many singers primarily perceive music by ear, but understanding its structures also opens the door to learning about it visually. For many, this clarifies and speeds up learning a song, and makes tackling more challenging melodies easier!
In this session, we’ll explore the basic building blocks of music("theory") and the fundamentals of reading notation in a practical way. You’ll have a tool to train your ear and make it easier to find, for example, the starting note of a song.
23.4.
Rhythm and internal groove
Not always sure when that tricky phrase starts? Having a hard time figuring out a challenging rhythm in a song?
Strengthen a super important tool in every singer's skillset: rhythm awareness and internal groove. A strong internal rhythmic compass helps you sound more confident, feel the song’s rhythm easier, and learn tricky sections faster!
7.5.
R&B- fundamentals
A full sound, cool melodic embellishments, and an unshakable groove? Explore the key elements of Rhythm & Blues singing style (think Bruno Mars, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys…): tone, phrasing, and embelishing the melody! Because sounding more r&b is not just about fast runs and riffs!
21.5.

How does this differ from a normal group class?
In the Vocal Lab workshops, the sessions are independent from each other: you can join any class without having attended previous ones, and no shared repertoire is created.
Is this the right level class for me?
The Vocal Lab sessions focus on themes where your level of singing experience doesn’t really matter!
Each session is designed so that everyone can follow along, and those with more experience will still discover new ideas and perspectives for their own singing!
You are so warmly welcome! Your unique experience is a truly valuable part of our group!
Why Vocal Lab?
Many (if not all!) singers find themselves thinking about the same things: how to manage stage nerves, how to practice in a way that’s both effective and fun, or how to make a song truly sound like their own. And I thought hey, why not explore and work on these things together? There’s so much knowledge and experience in the group, and we can learn a ton from one another!
I’ve also included other topics that I feel will support every singer, from musical understanding to vocal well-being, making this an interesting package that brings a whole new dimension alongside your private lessons!

What if I can't attend a workshops I signed up in?
Sometimes life brings situations where you cannot attend a booked workshop, but please note that single-session tickets are valid only for the purchased date, and no refunds or make-up sessions can be offered for missed classes.
If you cannot attend, you can give your spot to a friend or another student, and you are welcome to ask another participant to record the session for you, so you can still practice at home and benefit from the workshop.
At the end of the semester, there's a Bonus Session, open to all Vocal Lab participants. This session does not function as a replacement for missed workshops, but it offers an extra opportunity for learning, support and coaching even if you weren’t able to attend each session.
